Why am I seeing large changes to household counts for Condo Status variables in DemoStats 2019 vs what was reported in DemoStats 2018? Specifically in the province of Nova Scotia, households in condos (variable ECYCDOCO) increased almost 350%.

There are two different factors at play that explain the change you are seeing with condo status variables. First, 2019 condo status variables are based off Census 2016 data whereas DemoStats 2018 condo status variables were still relying on 2011 NHS data as its main input. Second, there were significant methodological changes to how we created our condo status variables for 2019. Because of these two factors, all condo variables are considered brand new variables for 2019 and comparisons to 2018 is strongly discouraged.
