Using MobileScapes Trend Tools

Use the MobileScapes Trend tools to analyze consumption rates, variables, or segments using MobileScapes Data Extracts to create a trend report for two separate periods. These reports can be used to compare segments within a defined area for a time series analysis.

Inputs Required for the MobileScapes Trend Tools:

Follow instructions on how to use each tool:

Using the MobileScapes Trend - Consumption Tool

Use the WalkMe Through below as a step-by-step guide in ENVISION. Note: You must be logged in to your ENVISION account to use the WalkMe Through.

MobileScapes Trend - Consumption WalkMe Through

  1. Launch the MobileScapes Trend - Consumption tool.

    MobileScapes Trend Consumption Tool icon
  2. Select a MobileScapes data extract (Geofence) that you would like to analyze by clicking the checkmark next to it Green checkmark.

    Select a MobileScapes extract
  3. You can turn the Filter switch ON to apply filters to your report. Choose from existing filters or create a new one. If your MobileScapes data extract was built with a single geofence (Aggregate analysis type), there is no need to apply filters. If your extract was built using multiple geofences (Individual analysis type), apply filters as desired. This can help you dig deeper into your analysis and identify certain visits or visitors.

Note: Individual analysis creates separate polygons for each geofence. MobileScapes Trend can only analyze one polygon; the filter is used to isolate a single polygon from the multiple polygons in the extract. MobileScapes extracts built using the Aggregate analysis type cannot be filtered on the geofence name. Please see Creating and Editing Custom Filters opens in new window for more information.

    Turn filters on
  4. Select a Benchmark. This must use a MobileScapes data extract created using the same geofence selected in step 2 but for an earlier time period. Select the appropriate Benchmark by clicking the checkmark next to it Green checkmark.

    Select a benchmark
  5. If you applied filters in the previous step, it is important that you turn the filter switch ON and use the same filters for the Benchmark. If your MobileScapes data extract was built with a single geofence (Aggregate analysis type), there is no need to apply filters. If your extract was built using multiple geofences (Individual analysis type), apply filters as desired. This can help you dig deeper into your analysis and identify certain visits or visitors.

  6. In the Select Variables section, use the drop-down button to select a data source. Alternatively, you can search for variables by using the search bar.

    Select variables drop-down
  7. Click the check box(es) next to the consumption variable(s) that you would like to include in your report.

    Select variables
  8. Use the drop-down button to select the customer level; you can analyze Visits or Visitors. Ensure your selection correlates to the previously selected MobileScapes data extract (Geofence) and Benchmark.

    Select customer level
    • (Daily) Visits: The number of times the visitor entered the Geofence, no matter how many visitors make up those visits. Visits are represented as an estimated Household Population 15+ weight. They filter out multiple visits to give a true indication of the unique Household Population 15+ identified within the Geofence over the time period selected.
    • (Unique) Visitors:The number of distinct and unique visitors that entered the Geofence in the requested time range, regardless of how often they visit. Visitors are represented as an estimated Household Population 15+ weight. They can be thought of as total foot traffic for the Geofence over the time period selected.
  9. Once you have made your selection, click Create Report.
