If your ZIP Code isn't being recognized by ENVISION, it may be because it's a point-level ZIP.
Five-Digit ZIP codes are defined by the USPS and can be represented visually in two ways:
- Area ZIP codes
- Represented by polygons
- Can contain households, group quarters and businesses
- Point-level ZIP codes
- Represented by points
- Typically used for Post Offices or large office buildings
- Do not contain any households or population.
A reference file (opens in new tab) listing all point level ZIP codes and all Area ZIP codes is available.
