Lesson: Geographic Data - File Structure

Geographic Databases

An example of a geographic database is the Geographic Hierarchy File.

Every data license includes the Geographic Hierarchy File. It defines the interrelationship of Census levels of geography and is a lookup table of Census geographic codes to English and French common names.

This file is used to design queries of all other database files.
