Using Workflows

You can use Workflows to guide you as you run reports, dashboards and maps, along with other outputs that are a part of the same analysis or project. Workflows are user-friendly and outline the necessary steps for common analyses in ENVISION. Results from previously run Workflows can be found in the Results page.

  1. In the ENVISION home page you will see a row of Workflows. Depending on your analysis, select the appropriate tile. Workflow tiles are defined below.

    ENVISION Workflows

Customer Analysis: Helps you understand who your customers are. Import your customer file to understand their geographic extent, map where they are on the ground, create a customer profile and determine demographic drivers that best describe your customers.

Trade Area Analysis: Helps you understand your area of study, along with how it compares to other areas. Analyze the demographic, financial, psychographic, media, behavioural and lifestyle variables in a custom trade area or standard level of geography, based on the data your organization licenses.

Segmentation Analysis: Helps you understand your population of interest, along with your best customers. Analyze your customers (or potential customers) through the lens of segmentation. Select target segments and build target groups by analyzing multiple profiles.

Personification: Helps you understand how to find, reach and communicate with your target groups. Describes your target groups using demographic, psychographic, media, behavioural and lifestyle databases.

Buyer Analysis and Activation: Helps you understand who purchases your products. Create a profile to determine the different types of households that buy your products, see the demographics, learn about their shopping preferences, media, leisure and psychographics. Build your understanding of where they can be found geographically.

Retail Landscape: Helps you analyze potential store locations. Describes the retail competitive landscape to help you evaluate store locations, while also considering their retail competitors. Analyze the demographics and detailed ranking reports to map out which stores explicitly are competitors. It also helps you evaluate the distance of competitor locations and to understand the risk of the ACV (All Commodity Volume).

  2. Add a unique Project Name for your Workflow and click Save Changes.

  3. The corresponding tools are listed. Select the tool you would like to use by clicking the play button.

Note: A green check mark indicates a Workflow tool that has been previously run.

  4. When you have finished using the tool, ENVISION will navigate back to the Workflows page, where you have the option to run additional tools for your Workflow.

  5. Click the Results icon results icon found on the right-hand corner of the top ribbon to access all your project Workflow outputs.

    Notes:

    • When using Workflows, outputs for your project can be found in the path mentioned above. You can also access and add on to existing Workflows by navigating to the Results page at the bottom of the side panel. You will find all of your project Workflows, containing their respective outputs.
    • If you created and named a Workflow but did not run any tools, it will not automatically save. If you would like to revisit a Workflow in the future, ensure that you have run a tool within it before you navigate away.
